Sleep Tracker – 8/13/2024

8h 46m in bed, 7h 19m asleep. This is my lowest differential ever with only 1h 27m of time awake during the night and an 83% sleep efficiency score.

I think I would have slept even more during this time, but the air conditioner in our bedroom stopped working around 2:00am and it started to get progressively warmer and stuffier in the room. It also caused me to start thinking about what it was going to take to get it fixed today and that created some additional stress.

Fortunately, it was a simple issue and everything is working normally again now for tonight’s sleep.

I added 500mg of l-tryptophan to my pre-sleep supplement stack last night and will do this again tonight to see if it is something that helps me improve my sleep further which has been trending in the right direction for the last few nights.

I didn’t use my massage chair before bed as I planned so I don’t yet know if that will make an impact for me.

Tonight will also be different because I have a 6:30pm singles tennis match scheduled in some very warm Texas weather and this will be an intensive workout that likely won’t wrap up until around 9:00pm. Recovery before bed will be key if I have any hope of maintaining the higher quality sleep I’ve been getting lately.
