Some common issues I deal with:
• Frequent night wake-ups

• Wake too early in the AM
• Short naps
• Only sleep while being held
• How to transition to crib/toddler bed
• How to wean night feedings
• Dropping a nap
About Me
I am a registered nurse who loves babies. I have cared for premature, sick, and many healthy babies.
For over 15 years I taught expectant parents how to care for their newborns through classes teaching basic baby care, infant massage classes, and moderating support groups for new moms as they deal with parenting issues.
My husband and I have 6 children. Four of our children are grown and have added 7 grandchildren into our lives.
When our 4 oldest children were teenagers, we began to do foster care for infants. After caring for over 30 babies, I learned how to get newborn babies to sleep.
We adopted 2 of our foster children. Our daughter came to us at 11 months with the worst sleep habits possible. I tried every trick I could think of with varying success. I did not know where to turn for help. We were all very sleep deprived and totally exhausted. After a lot of failures, we were finally able to teach her to sleep. I wish that I had been able to find a "sleep consultant" to help us during that very difficult and exhausting time. I know how hard it is to try and figure out how to fix the "lack of sleep" problem. No, it does not usually go away on its own.
I have led support groups with new moms for over 10 years and the most common problem I hear is, “How can I get my baby to sleep?” I work with families to find a personalized plan to teach their baby how to sleep. I coach each family to help them reach their sleep goals. Sleep is a necessity for all of us. I chose the Family Sleep Institute to get my training and certification because I love the emphasis on approaching sleep through understanding what is happening biologically in the body. It taught me how to approach sleep according to the correct developmental stage of the child. Let's get started.
Sleep Packages
Did you know?
• Frustrations and problems with sleep are the #1 problem I hear from mothers.
• Sleep is “food for the brain” and as important as nutrition for the body. Poor sleep has been linked to ADHD, decreased academic performance, behavioral problems and many health problems for the entire family.
• You have probably heard a lot of advice and maybe read many opinions, which is overwhelming.
• I will customize a sleep plan for your child and your family. We will work together to design a sleep plan to meet your goals, following your comfort level. It is NOT a one size fits all approach.
• I will provide on-going support through the process and answer your questions. I want you to succeed and get the sleep you need.
• I will empower you to teach your child healthy sleep habits that will last a lifetime.
Let's get your family on the path to healthy sleep.
