When you live with insomnia, anxiety can feel like an enemy — like your brain is constantly working against you. But what if that anxiety is really your brain trying to protect you?

It might sound strange, but the worry and alertness your brain creates are its way of keeping you safe from what it sees as danger. The problem isn’t your brain — it’s just trying to protect you.

Progress doesn’t come from shutting down anxiety. It starts when you see your brain’s effort for what it is — a sign of care, not failure — and begin responding to it with understanding instead of resistance.
