When you live with insomnia, it can feel like acceptance is just another task on your list — something you’re supposed to get right. But acceptance doesn’t work that way.
Real acceptance can’t be forced. It takes ongoing practice and often shows up on its own when you stop battling the night and give yourself permission to do something else. That shift can free up energy and help you feel less drained the next day.
Progress doesn’t mean perfect acceptance. It might mean noticing the fight, stepping back when you can, and seeing how things feel when you’re not pushing so hard.
