Too-Short Naps & Night 3 Progress (13–24 Months | Day 3)
Welcome to Day 3 of the 13–24 month sleep training program! Whether Night 2 brought signs of progress or felt a bit tougher, you’re on the right track. Today, Dana Obleman is talking all about short naps—why they happen, what to do when they do, and how to handle them without losing momentum.
The goal for now isn’t perfect nap length—it’s consistency. Get your toddler down in their crib for naps and stay the course. Improvements are coming, and Night 3 often brings a big leap forward!
😴 What you’ll learn in this video:
– Why 20–45 minute naps are common right now
– When to wait it out vs. when to get your toddler up
– How to offer a short “top-up” nap later in the day
– Why some toddlers do better with the “leave and check” method
– What signs to look for as sleep starts to improve
🎉 Pro tip: Even the smallest wins—less crying, quicker settle times, fewer wake-ups—mean your toddler is learning. Keep going!
