Insomnia insight #133: Magical thinking can keep you from sleeping better
When uncle Joe has to wear his red bandana for the Yankees to win, this is an example of magical thinking. In this case harmless and even funny. When you believe that the only way you can sleep is having sleepy time tea 9:20 pm sharp and going to bed 27 minutes later things are more serious. This type of magical thinking can erode your sleep confidence and stand in the way of better sleep.
