Day 10: What to Do When Baby Gets Sick (7–12 Months Sleep Sense Program)

Welcome to Day 10! If things have been going smoothly, that’s fantastic—but illness can temporarily throw a wrench in even the best sleep training progress. Today’s video will help you navigate sleep when your little one is under the weather—without falling back into old habits.

In this video, you’ll learn:
– Why it’s best to avoid bringing baby into your bed, even when they’re sick
– A better option: camp out by the crib to offer comfort without disrupting sleep
– How to offer extra love and reassurance without undoing your progress
– What to do if you’ve already slipped back into night feeds or other sleep props

👉 Need guidance on how to handle illness while staying on track? https://sleepsense.net/plus includes a downloadable resource with tips for managing sleep when your baby isn’t feeling well.

Night 10 is a big milestone! Tonight, you’ll be leaving the room at bedtime for the first time. If baby protests, wait 5–10 minutes before going in to offer reassurance using your key phrase and gentle touch—then leave again. Stick with it! Most babies adjust quickly with just a few check-ins.

👶 This course is for babies aged 7–12 months. For other age groups, check the Playlists section of my YouTube channel to find the right program.

You’re doing an incredible job—see you tomorrow for Day 11!
