Cribs vs. Toddler Beds & What to Expect on Night 6 (13–24 Months | Day 6)

Welcome to Day 6 of the toddler sleep training program! If last night felt like a step backward, don’t worry—many toddlers hit a regression around Night 5, but things usually turn around quickly. Today, Dana Obleman is talking about your toddler’s relationship with their crib and whether it might be time to think about a big-kid bed.

Spoiler alert: for most toddlers, sticking with the crib is best!

🛏️ What you’ll learn in this video:
– Why it’s usually best to keep toddlers in a crib until at least 2½ years old
– How the crib supports sleep boundaries and safety
– What to do if your child is climbing or trying to escape the crib
– How to handle crib resistance (and why it usually improves soon)
– What to expect tonight—especially if you haven’t hit the Night 5 regression yet

🎯 Remember: consistency is still the name of the game. With every nap and bedtime, you’re helping your toddler gain more confidence in their sleep skills.
