Day 5: Troubleshooting Common Sleep Training Setbacks (7–12 Months)
Welcome to Day 5 of the Sleep Sense Program for babies aged 7–12 months!
If last night felt a little rough, you’re not alone. Around Night 5, many babies go through a temporary regression—where it suddenly feels like you’re back at square one. It’s totally normal, and the most important thing you can do is stay calm and stick with the plan.
In this video, we’ll cover:
– Why regressions happen (and why they’re a sign of progress!)
– What to do if your baby isn’t adapting well to the “stay in the room” approach
– How the “leave and check” method can help—and when to make the switch
– Special considerations for babies with colic or reflux
– How to stay consistent and confident, even if the night doesn’t go as planned
👉 Need more help transitioning to the “leave and check” method? Sleep Sense Plus includes a downloadable resource that can make this process easier to navigate. Check it out at https://sleepsense.net/plus
