Day 9: How to Handle Early Morning Wakeups (7–12 Months Sleep Sense Program)

Good morning—and welcome to Day 9 of your sleep training journey for babies aged 7–12 months!

If your baby has been waking up between 4:30 and 5:00 AM, you’re definitely not alone. Early wakeups are super common at this stage, but the good news is: they’re fixable!

In this video, you’ll learn:
– Why your baby’s REM sleep makes them extra sensitive to noise and light in the early hours
– How to adjust the environment (like using white noise or blackout curtains)
– Why offering a feed before 6:00 AM might be reinforcing the early wakeup habit
– How to treat pre-6:00 AM wakeups just like any other nighttime waking

Tonight, keep following the same pattern from Nights 7 and 8—stay seated near the door and let your baby fall asleep independently. Get ready, because tomorrow we’ll make a big transition to outside the room!
