Naptime Strategies That Work (Even When the Crib Doesn’t) Newborns 0–3 Months | Day 9

Welcome to Day 9! Today, Dana Obleman walks you through some real-world strategies for getting your baby to nap—starting with the crib, but with permission to pivot if things don’t go perfectly.

Daytime sleep can be just as tricky as nighttime sleep, but don’t worry—there’s a plan for that.

In this video, you’ll learn:
– How to approach the first nap of the day (your best shot at a crib nap!)
– When and how to use gentle soothing tools like shushing, rubbing the forehead, or pick-up/put-down
– What to do when baby just won’t nap in their crib (hint: it’s okay to have a Plan B!)
– A list of approved “Plan B” nap spots, in order of preference
✅ swing
✅ stroller
✅ car ride
✅ baby carrier
✅ feed-to-sleep (as a last resort)
– Why it’s okay to be flexible—as long as you keep the Feed–Play–Nap rhythm going

💡 Remember: You don’t have to get every nap perfect. Focus on progress, not perfection—and protect your own sanity, too. If a “Plan B” nap helps everyone reset, take it.
