I'm a neonatal nurse, wife of a pediatrician, and a certified pediatric sleep consultant. I'm also a mom to four kids, so I know first-hand how important good sleep is for your entire family.
I created Taking Cara Babies to help babies and toddlers sleep so the whole family can thrive. Let’s meet your child right where they are developmentally with strategies that match your family’s priorities and lifestyle.
Can I share my story? My experience as a first-time parent started out —well, differently than I expected. My entire life, more than anything else, I longed to be a mama. In fact, it was my biggest heart’s desire.
And then I became one…
Oh, how in love I was with this baby girl! And, I felt pretty confident caring for her—during the day. (Babies were my jam! By the time she was born, I had cared for thousands of teeny ones in my career.)
But, our nights were another story. My baby didn’t sleep, which means I didn’t sleep, and soon I was exhausted, frustrated, and questioning my own skills and worth.
How was this even happening? You would think a pediatric nurse (me) and a pediatrician (my husband) could surely figure out how to get a baby to sleep!
Thankfully, this story has a happy ending—and yours can too. After reading all the research and trying all the strategies, I finally found a solution that combines the expertise of a nurse with the heart of a mama.
